Chapter Of Rectitude No. 502 – Exaltation

The companions of the Chapter of Rectitude No 502, which meets at Rugby Masonic Hall, were delighted to welcome, and exalt Bro David Brown into the Chapter at our Convocation on 7th December 2023.

Bro David became interested in joining the Royal Arch when he attended the Royal Arch Roadshow meeting at Nuneaton Masonic Hall on 24th April 2023, which was chaired by the Deputy Grand Superintendent, E Comp David Graham, who is also the Scribe Ezra of the Chapter of Rectitude.

Finding out Bro Brown was a member of Eastfields Lodge No 8959, which also meets in Rugby, E Comp David advised our MEZ, E Comp Richard Clews, who is also a member of Eastfields Lodge, of Bro David’s interest and after E Comp Richard discussed this with him further, he decided he wanted to join the Royal Arch straight away and 9 weeks later, he is a valued member of our Chapter.

He was welcomed into the Chapter by 25 members and 5 visitors, the foremost of these being E Comp Geoff Walker, Third Provincial Grand Principal, who looked after and educated Comp David at the Festive Board.

The DC watched with interest whilst E Comp Geoff explained how to do the “fire” after the Toasts, to see if it was in accordance with the Chapter of Rectitude workings, which apart from clapping at the end, he was relieved to see that it was!

The exaltation ceremony was conducted with skill and sincerity by all of those companions involved, who the MEZ thanked for making it a night to remember for the candidate, especially those Companions in temporary offices, and the Sojourners taking part in an exaltation for the first time.

The meal at Festive Board was excellent, the atmosphere convivial and enjoyed by all, and despite the undeserved reputation that Rugby has for finishing late, was over by 10.00pm.
