Ever Popular Annual Church Service
posted on 15 January 2018
The Annual Service for Companions and their families will be held at the Parish Church of St. Peter, Coughton, near Alcester, at 3.00 p.m. on Sunday 25th February 2018. This year the Province is again honoured to have leading the service The Rev. Canon Michael Wilson, who as well as being Grand Chaplain of the U.G.L.E. is the Past Third Provincial Grand Principal for the Province of Leicestershire and Rutland.
This year the format of the Service has been changed to be more suitable to Companions of all faiths.
The Grand Chaplain will be preaching on the theme “Where is Jerusalem?” and appropriate music and readings have been chosen. This will be the third occasion where he will lead our service and no doubt we will again have another thought provoking and enjoyable address.
The ME Grand Superintendent, E. Comp Philip L Hall is very keen to ensure that we as a Province again recognise the honour of having the Grand Chaplain with us and wishes to ensure a good attendance by Warwickshire Companions. Accordingly, he specifically requests the support of the Principals of all Chapters in ensuring that they and the Companions of their Chapter attend this special Service.
The Provincial Choir led by E Comp Michael Irving will once again provide the usual high standard of choral music.
After the Service you are invited, if you wish, to Kings Court Hotel for afternoon tea – sandwiches, cakes etc., at a cost of £8.50 per head – which is a good way to finish off a splendid afternoon.
Please send your application as soon as possible by returning the slip below, together with your remittance. The dress code is informal and no regalia is worn. The ME Grand Superintendent looks forward to welcoming you and your families to St. Peter’s.
Yours sincerely and fraternally,
David R Graham, Provincial Scribe E.
